Blogoversary #2

Today marks this blog being 2 years old. I can’t believe it’s been that long already!!  I remember people thinking that I was crazy for starting another blog, but I really felt that all my printables needed to be separate from my daily life blog.  I stand by that as I mark today’s blogoversary!!

Pet Vet

The Schoolhouse Moved - Files

In my group, one of our summer themes is prop boxes.  Dramatic play is so important in the development of children.  My daughter loved all things “grown up” and would play all sorts of these dramatic play things.

One of her favorites was playing vet, which she still intends to be!!  I made to exam sheets or record sheets for her.  One was made in 2009 and one in 2010.  Yes, she was still playing “grown up” just a couple years ago.  She had a cash register (real one), so she loved to do anything and everything with it.  She loved to ring up her customers!!

Anyway, these are 2 of the sheets that I made for her and I want to share them with you to use for your little ones.  Each one has a choice of type of animal, reason for visit, and pet’s name.  After that they differ and can be used for different functions.  I hope that your kids get as much enjoyment as my daughter did!!

Here’s a thumbnail view of the sheets….

Spring Break

It’s time for….

spring-break-logoat our little homeschool, religious education, and here at The Schoolhouse!!

Since there’s no class this week, I don’t have a new page for the Bible ABC’s to post and I’m just going to take a break to enjoy some quality family time.  I’ll return next week and hopefully have some great new ideas that I can turn into printables to share!!

S is for Shepherd

Back for a brand new page of my Bible ABC’s!!

This one is “S is for Shepherd”.  The children will color the picture of the shepherd tending to his sheep.  This page would not only be good for the Bible alphabet, but other Bible lessons and reviews.

Here’s a thumbnail view of today’s page….

Ash Wednesday

Ash-WedToday is Ash Wednesday and we celebrate as a class by attending mass.  Therefore, there won’t be a page for the Bible ABC’s today.  Please check back next week for the next letter in our Bible alphabet!!

Have a blessed Ash Wednesday and may you accomplish all your goals this Lent season!!

Q is for Queen

It’s time for a new Bible ABC page again!!

This week’s page is “Q is for Queen”.  This is a queen in general, but could easily be used for Queen Esther.   Each week, I do one of these pages as a warm-up with my class, but they could be used for a lesson, a review, or so many other things.

Here’s a thumbnail view of of the new page….

New Year….New Printables

2013

Well, now that 2013 is here and the hustle and bustle of the holidays is over, I’ll be getting back to creating some new printables!!  I had big plans for Christmas freebies for all of you, but I just couldn’t complete anything other than my 2 Elf on the Shelf items.  Family is so important to me and we really did have a great holiday season.  I know that I didn’t have much for you all and that my blog took a little hit without things being posted, but it was worth it to me in so many ways!!

This weekend, I have several things going on, so it’ll be next week when I start creating and posting free materials again.  Also, next week I go back to teaching my religion class as Christmas Break will be over.  That means that I’ll be back to posting my weekly Bible Alphabet page.

Thanks for sticking by me and The Schoolhouse little blog!!

Happy New Year!!

Blessed-New-YearI can’t believe that it’s already 2013.  Time sure is flying!!  I don’t like that it’s going by so fast, but I’m ready to see what’s ahead.

I want to thank each of my readers and those that follow along with The Schoolhouse.  I wish each of you a very Happy and Blessed New Year!!
