Blogoversary #2

Today marks this blog being 2 years old. I can’t believe it’s been that long already!!  I remember people thinking that I was crazy for starting another blog, but I really felt that all my printables needed to be separate from my daily life blog.  I stand by that as I mark today’s blogoversary!!

Pet Vet

The Schoolhouse Moved - Files

In my group, one of our summer themes is prop boxes.  Dramatic play is so important in the development of children.  My daughter loved all things “grown up” and would play all sorts of these dramatic play things.

One of her favorites was playing vet, which she still intends to be!!  I made to exam sheets or record sheets for her.  One was made in 2009 and one in 2010.  Yes, she was still playing “grown up” just a couple years ago.  She had a cash register (real one), so she loved to do anything and everything with it.  She loved to ring up her customers!!

Anyway, these are 2 of the sheets that I made for her and I want to share them with you to use for your little ones.  Each one has a choice of type of animal, reason for visit, and pet’s name.  After that they differ and can be used for different functions.  I hope that your kids get as much enjoyment as my daughter did!!

Here’s a thumbnail view of the sheets….

Since there’s no class this week, I don’t have a new page for the Bible ABC’s to post and I’m just going to take a break to enjoy some quality family time.  I’ll return next week and hopefully have some great new ideas that I can turn into printables to share!!

U is for Unleavened Bread

This one is “U is for Unleavened Bread”. This time, they get to color a round cake of unleavened bread and a stack of square pieces.  I hope that this page is not only good for you with the Bible alphabet, but also other lessons and reviews.

This one is “S is for Shepherd”.  The children will color the picture of the shepherd tending to his sheep.  This page would not only be good for the Bible alphabet, but other Bible lessons and reviews.

New Year….New Printables

2013

Well, now that 2013 is here and the hustle and bustle of the holidays is over, I’ll be getting back to creating some new printables!!  I had big plans for Christmas freebies for all of you, but I just couldn’t complete anything other than my 2 Elf on the Shelf items.  Family is so important to me and we really did have a great holiday season.  I know that I didn’t have much for you all and that my blog took a little hit without things being posted, but it was worth it to me in so many ways!!

This weekend, I have several things going on, so it’ll be next week when I start creating and posting free materials again.  Also, next week I go back to teaching my religion class as Christmas Break will be over.  That means that I’ll be back to posting my weekly Bible Alphabet page.

Thanks for sticking by me and The Schoolhouse little blog!!

Happy New Year!!

Blessed-New-YearI can’t believe that it’s already 2013.  Time sure is flying!!  I don’t like that it’s going by so fast, but I’m ready to see what’s ahead.

I want to thank each of my readers and those that follow along with The Schoolhouse.  I wish each of you a very Happy and Blessed New Year!!

Bible ABC’s

This week, there won’t be a new page of the Bible Alphabet.  My class will be having their Christmas party tonight, so I won’t be doing an ABC page for class warm-up.  We’re also on Christmas Break for 2 weeks, so there won’t be a new page posted during that time.  Please check back after the first of the year when I’ll resume with new pages!!

Patriotic Calendar and Desk Sets

It’s almost time to go “back to school”, so this week, I’ll be creating and sharing things to use in the classroom (or at home) as we all head back in that direction.  Most will be calendar sets in a variety of color themes, but if time permits, I’ll also be making some other materials.

I call this first set patriotic because I used a red, white, and blue background.  It’s a great background with all the patriotic colors in a fun swirl.

The calendar set includes dates 1-31 with extras like “no school”, “birthday”, and a couple of others.  There’s also a set of numerals for 32-100 for those that use your calendars as a 100’s chart.  There’s also all 12 months of the year, as well as years from 2012 to 2017, so you can use this set for years to come!!  Finally, there’s a set of days to use on their own or use with the yesterday was, today is, and tomorrow will be cards.

In the desk set is a set of cubbie tags and desk plates.  Both include a blank for you to use as needed.  There’s also a 1-100 counting chart.  I also made a set of “home tags” which list several methods that the children go home.  These can be attached to the desk, used as a neck tag, or attached to the backpack.  Had my daughters teacher used these in 1st grade, I wouldn’t have had to be panicked when my daughter didn’t get off the bus!!  Finally, there’s some incentive sheets.  These are larger in size and can be used for behavior, reading, returning homework, or a number of other things.

Here’s a thumbnail view of what the calendar set looks like….

NOTE:  Some of these files are very large in size.  I apologize if they download slow.  I’m not sure why they’re so large when there’s no graphics and only a background.

If you use these printables, have any requests, or just want to let me know how you used them, please leave a comment and let me know. I’d also appreciate it if you’d click the button below to vote for my blog. (You can vote ONCE a day!!) I love feedback and I truly create by the input that I receive….thanks!!

Grover

Today I have some Grover printables to share.  He’s always been one of my favorite Sesame Street characters.  I think he’s so funny and cute!!

First, there’s a set of 4-piece basic puzzles.  The puzzles are perfect for little hands and developing their skills.  There’s also a set of “Label the Color” cards.  The color of Grover’s faces is labeled with the correct color tag.

Images from internet sources and believed to be public domain.

Here’s a thumbnail view of some of the Grover printables….
